About me

Hey, I’m Zelda and I live in Lombok, Indonesia. My favourite colour is pink, I think cats are the best animals, and I love to play tingko with my friends (traditional hide and seek game). My favourite subject in school is mathematics and I want to become a teacher when I grow up.

Circumstance

My father disappeared when I was 5 months old and my mother left a few years ago. I now live with my grandmother who struggles to support me and keep me in school. I have severe dental issues which creates constant toothaches and requires medical attention, which we can’t afford.

What are the main problems I face?

Sadly, there are a number of difficulties I face every single day. Whether I will eat dinner tonight, or go to school tomorrow, I just don’t know. The main issues where I live are:

Children often go without food or water

Medical care & supplies are rarely available

Parents are incapable due to illness & jobs

Kids miss out on school due to costs

Mosquito bites could mean aids or malaria
